Q. What happens if my child cannot attend a class?
We completely understand that things come up and children may occasionally need to miss a class. Whenever possible, we offer make-up classes so your child can catch up on the topic they missed.
To be eligible for a make-up class, we kindly ask for a minimum of 24 hours’ notice (by phone call or email). Unfortunately, we aren’t able to provide credits or refunds for absences with less than 24 hours’ notice, or for no-shows without any notice.
Please note that because of the structure of certain courses, make-up classes may not always be available. In those cases, tuition is non-refundable. You can see the list of courses that allow for make-up classes here:

Weather conditions – please, note, that weather conditions do not fall under our cancellation policies, unless Inventor STEM School cancels the classes, any lessons missed due to weather conditions are non-refundable.
Illness: While we’re sympathetic to unexpected illnesses, we’re not able to provide refunds for missed classes due to illness.
Q. What happens if my child doesn’t want to commit to the same course for a whole year or semester, or if the course feels too easy or too difficult?
We want every child to feel both challenged and comfortable in their learning. To make sure of this, we regularly assess students to confirm they’re in the right course level.
If your child is ready for the next step, we’ll gladly offer that opportunity. If their interests or schedule change, we’ll work with you to explore other options, such as switching to another course or group (based on the teacher’s recommendation).
In the rare case that no suitable alternative can be found, we can end the semester early and credit the unused tuition to your family account.
Q. Does my child need to have robotics experience?
Not at all! No prior experience is required to join our classes. Our teachers will assess each child and place them at the level that best supports their learning.
Our curriculum is designed to make robotics fun and approachable for beginners, while also giving students the tools and challenges they need to take on more advanced projects as they grow.
Q. Are the classes hard?
Our classes are designed to be engaging and enjoyable above all else! While there’s always an educational component, our main goal is to make learning fun and approachable. We make sure that children are challenged just enough to spark curiosity without feeling overwhelmed. Every activity is adapted to their age and stage of learning, so kids can grow at their own pace and celebrate their progress along the way.
Q. What is the difference between a “Block” purchase and a “Semester” purchase?
“Block” and “Semester” are two flexible payment options designed to suit different family needs.
With the Block option, you pay for the semester in monthly installments, with each payment covering 4 or 5 classes. When you register, your child is enrolled for the entire semester—you’re simply choosing to spread the payments over several months.
With the Semester option, you pay for the entire semester upfront. This option is usually more cost-effective when calculated per class, while giving your child full access to all lessons for the semester.
Both options allow your child to participate in the complete semester of learning, giving you flexibility and convenience.
Q. If my child misses a class, can they take their makeup lesson in another course?
Because our programs are carefully designed to build on each lesson, make-up classes can only be taken within the same course. This way, your child stays on track and gets the full benefit of the learning experience.
If your child does miss a class, we’ll do our best to schedule a make-up session so they can catch up on the material they missed and continue learning without gaps.
Q. Will the children be sharing their Lego sets?
For all our Junior courses, each child receives their own individual LEGO set to ensure a personal, hands-on experience.
For STEM Middle and STEM Senior courses, students work in pairs for robotics and architecture activities. Working together helps them practice communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while still enjoying hands-on building.
In our Minecraft and Game Development courses, each student works individually on their own laptop. This setup encourages concentration, independent thinking, and personal achievement while they explore coding and digital creation.
Q. What is your Cancellation Policy?
At Inventor STEM School, we understand that plans can change, and we strive to be flexible and supportive. While we aim to accommodate your needs, certain fees (such as early withdrawal fees) may apply.
Payment method – Block
If your child has attended all the paid classes but is unable to continue within the same course or schedule, there are no additional fees. We kindly ask that you let us know at least a week in advance so that we can offer the spot to another student on our waiting list. If you cancel before the last paid class, the remaining amount will be transferred to your family credit account. This credit can be used for future evening or weekend after-school programs, camps, preschool programs, birthday parties, or even for siblings. We aim to provide flexibility and options so you can make the most of your participation with us.
Payment method – Semester
Certain conditions apply if you choose this payment option. If you cancel before attending the last paid class, an early withdrawal fee of $50 will be applied. The remaining balance for unattended classes will be transferred to your family credit account, which can be used for future programs, camps, birthday parties, or for other children in your family.
Refund Option
If you prefer to receive a refund directly to your debit/credit card, please note that an additional 3% administration fee of the total order amount will apply.
Q. Does your school offer drop-in classes?
Most of our courses are designed as year-long programs, with lessons that build progressively throughout the semester. To ensure students receive a comprehensive and cohesive learning experience, we do not offer drop-in classes for these programs.
That said, we are currently developing a curriculum specifically for drop-off classes. If you are interested in this option, please don’t hesitate to contact us—we’d be happy to provide more information and let you know as soon as these classes become available.
Q. How do I choose the proper course/level amongst all the options?
We offer a one-time free trial lesson to help determine the most suitable course and level for your child. During the trial, your child will participate in a full-length class while our teachers observe and assess their skills, interests, and learning style. Based on this assessment, we will recommend the course and level that will give your child the best learning experience and support their growth.
